If you want to make a difference to the lives of young learners by inspiring them through the study of literature and developing their communication skills to become confident citizens of the future, come and join a like-minded faculty of English specialists and enthusiasts.
GCSE English results have been excellent over the last three years. We are looking for a well-qualified and enthusiastic teacher of English to join the team and teach the subject across the age and ability range.
The successful candidate will be passionate about their subject, committed to motivating students to reach their full potential and offer enrichment beyond the classroom. Claydon High School provides an excellent support programme for newly appointed staff. There may also be the possibility for additional opportunities including Head of Year and/or setting up Media Studies.
Claydon High School is a popular, oversubscribed and friendly comprehensive school on the outskirts of Ipswich; we are situated close to the A14 with easy transport links across Suffolk and into Essex. We are a small school with 773 students on roll which means that there is a close working relationship with all the staff and students in the school. As part of the Penrose Learning Trust we also work closely with other schools within the MAT to achieve “excellence through collaboration”.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Please note: Due to the timing of the advert, we may call for interview earlier than advertised.
Closing date: Midday on Tuesday 21st October
Interview date: Thursday 23rd October
Penrose Learning Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be required to provide references, undergo employment checks and an enhanced disclosure via the DBS.
