Headteacher's Update
As the dark, wet and cold days kick in, students are working hard to develop confidence and resilience for themselves as well as demonstrating compassion towards others. We have launched our annual hamper appeal and students are busily creating their designs but more importantly thinking about how they can support those who face significant challenges in life. As well as supporting IHAG’s Chapman Centre in Ipswich we shall wear our seasonal woolly jumpers to raise funds for Save the Children.
Year 7s have also explored these same concepts in their LIFE lessons and have been sharing their acts of compassion and kindness via an email account compassion@claydonhigh.com ; we all appreciate how important these qualities are in our community and our proud of our students for embracing these activities so enthusiastically.
We were delighted to welcome local speakers to share ideas about a zero waste approach to Christmas, talking widely about the environment and how we can all take little steps to tackle the concerns which we all see on documentaries and in the news.
