Claydon High School

Curriculum Statement

Curriculum Statement 2018/19

It is an exciting time in education with a new National Curriculum at KS1, 2 and 3 and opportunities to review our teaching to prepare our students to achieve the very best they can in terms of preparation for life after Claydon High School and of course preparation for good GCSE outcomes.

How have we prepared?

  • We have ensured we are fully conversant with KS1 and 2 so we know what skills, knowledge and understanding our students should arrive with in Year 7
  • We have re-written all our KS3 Schemes of Work to ensure a smooth transition from primary school and to challenge our students in preparation for GCSE courses.
  • With NC levels no longer being used from 2016 we have created our own assessment and reporting framework. This began in September 2016 with Year 7 and will follow through with subsequent year groups. Our skills ladders can be found here.
